99% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C.

STATEMENT
Students, staff, governors and parents at Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School were today celebrating outstanding GCSE results, placing the school as the highest achieving in the borough.
An amazing 96% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C with English and Maths, while 61% achieved the newly introduced English Baccalaureate. The average points score per student was a staggering 557 points.
Zaynab Seedat, who achieved 12A* grades, said: ‘I am really grateful to my parents and all of my teachers. All that hard work has really paid off.’
Principal, (Mufti) Hamid Patel, said: ‘Our students have achieved amazing results. Their efforts, and that of all of our staff, have been richly rewarded.’
Tauheedul, a Specialist Humanities College, moved into the maintained sector five years ago. Last year, the school was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted; the first secondary school in Blackburn to receive such an award.
