Welcome from the Chair of the Governing Body

TIGHS was created in response to demands from the community. It has gone from strength to strength and its development has always been driven by the needs and demands of the local community. This community desire for educational, personal and spiritual excellence has been the driving force behind the continual improvement and development of TIGHS and has led to the outstanding school we have become today.

Our aim has always been to create an outstanding learning community that promotes a culture of educational excellence from within a caring and secure Islamic environment enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care and respect. We are committed to inspiring learners with excellence in academic achievement, character development and service to the local and global community. We want to provide a place for young women to develop as future leaders and active global citizens, and to contribute locally, nationally and further afield.

Our goal is to develop young women of the highest intellectual calibre who are able to contribute morally, spiritually, socially, economically and politically to the societies and communities in which they live, study and work.

The TIGHS campus aims to become a focal point not only for local Muslim women, or for sisters from around our country, but a recognised international centre of excellence for the education and leadership development of women of any age or faith.

Our vision is for TIGHS to continue to be a centre at the forefront of innovation. We work closely with partners in the local area and beyond, including with local business. We combine strong traditional values with cutting edge thinking. Through our emphasis on continuous improvement and on introducing new ways of working and learning, we aim to set the standard, locally, regionally and nationally and to be a blueprint for other schools and colleges – those with a faith ethos and those without.
