Governance
Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School is part of Star Academies.
The Star Board of Members and Trustees oversees the whole organisation and is the legal Governing Body for all Star schools, but much of the work of the Board is delegated to the school Local Accountability Board (see Star Scheme of Delegation).
We have a committed team of governors who are actively involved in the life of the school. They reflect the community we serve – men and women, Muslims and non-Muslims. They bring a varied set of skills, professional backgrounds and experiences to help shape the school. The Local Accountability Board includes parent and staff representatives.
If you want to bring any matters to the attention of the Local Accountability Board, you should address your correspondence to the Chair of Governors at the school address.
Sir Mufti Hamid Patel CBE
Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Sixth Form College,
Preston New Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 7AD.
The governors are passionate about the school and are here to make sure that every young person is given the best education, opportunities and experiences possible. Our governors play an important role in overseeing the work of the school, acting as “critical friends” for the senior leadership team and holding the school to account for performance and development.
Please note that any complaints regarding the school must be raised in line with our Complaints Policy and cannot be raised with the Local Accountability Board.
